Quick Observation Register

Capture data in less than 10 seconds

Overview

The Observation Register module is designed for maximum speed and minimum friction. The goal is for you to be able to record an observation in less than 10 seconds, without interrupting your workflow.

Registration Flow

1

You receive a notification

Or open the observation manually

2

Observe the worker

What are they doing now?

3

Select the task

One tap and done

โœ“

Automatically saved

Registration Interface

When opening a pending observation, you will see:

Context Information

  • Work station: Pre-selected according to the plan
  • Scheduled time: The original observation moment
  • Current time: For reference

Task List

Tasks are shown as large, easy-to-tap buttons, organized by category:

  • Green: Productive tasks
  • Red: Non-productive tasks
  • Yellow: Delays

Optional Fields

After selecting the task, you can add additional information:

Field Description When to use it
Pace rating Performance rating (60-80 or 100-133 scale) For studies with activity factor
Notes Free text for additional observations Unusual situations or important details

Offline Mode

Recording works 100% offline. This is critical in industrial environments where connectivity can be limited.

โœ… Online

  • โ€ข Data is saved locally
  • โ€ข Syncs automatically with the cloud
  • โ€ข Real-time backup

๐Ÿ“ด Offline

  • โ€ข Data is saved locally
  • โ€ข Accumulates in sync queue
  • โ€ข Uploads automatically when reconnected

Edit Observations

If you made a mistake, you can edit any registered observation:

  1. Go to the "Plan" tab of the study
  2. Find the observation (marked in green)
  3. Tap to open it
  4. Modify the selected task
  5. Save changes

๐Ÿ’ก Pro tip

Record the observation immediately after performing it. Data accuracy decreases if you try to remember what the worker was doing minutes later.

Missed Observations

If you could not perform an observation at the scheduled time:

  • The observation is marked as "Pending"
  • You can register it later with an explanatory note
  • Or leave it as missed (does not significantly affect the study if there are few)

โš ๏ธ Important

A study is valid if you complete at least 85% of the planned observations. Missing a few observations is normal and does not invalidate the study.

Mobile-Optimized Interface

The recording screen is designed for one-handed use:

  • Large buttons: Easy to tap with your thumb
  • Distinctive colors: Quick category identification
  • Minimal scrolling: All info visible
  • Haptic feedback: Vibration on confirmation
  • Intuitive gestures: Swipe for quick actions

Automatic Timestamps

Each observation automatically records:

  • Scheduled time: When it was supposed to be done
  • Registration time: When it was actually recorded

This allows analyzing observer punctuality and detecting potential biases.
